Vice President Supply Chain

Project ID: 9999

Location Cambridge, ON, Guelph, ON, Kitchener, ON, Milton, ON, Waterloo, ON
Description Over a hundred years 'young' this profitable Canadian corporation operates internationally as a designer / manufacturer of industrial capital equipment and OEM components. Proudly recognized as an employer of choice by long-serving, loyal employees and as a vendor of choice by customers, this public corporation's culture still personifies its roots as a family owned & operated business. Collaboration, open communications, servant leadership - all aptly describe the workplace culture and contribute to the corporation's successes. Early into its second century, it is now charting strategic growth from its rock-solid foundation, growth that will challenge its international production facilities, Supply Chain of vendors, and distribution channels.

Kitchener Executive Consultants has partnered with the corporation to recruit and hire the Vice President Supply Chain to join the executive leadership team at headquarters reporting to the COO. Inheriting well-run management teams in Purchasing, Logistics, and Warehousing, the VP will be able to absorb and learn from past & current states and then execute strategic initiatives that will support the aggressive growth plans for the future state. Partnering with the Sales & Marketing teams, the VP will develop and deploy finished goods warehousing requirements for standard catalogue products while straddling the vendor management and inventory requirements to support project-driven, custom Engineered Sales.

Our ideal candidate brings an outstanding Supply Chain career highlighted by successes leading an international matrix of vendors, production facilities, and distribution warehouses. With a history working inside a small-cap public corporation the candidate is still a humble, hands-on leader willing to step into the weeds at times. Critical to success, the VP must develop and harness positive relationships across and up & down the Sales, Marketing, and Operations organizations to anticipate and support business development with requisite infrastructures. Ideally, the candidate has a superb understanding of the needs of multiple manufacturing sites in multiple jurisdictions and appreciates the variable demands of build-to-stock and build/design-to-order business models.
