Description For some 50 years this designer and manufacturer of sophisticated, safety-critical auto parts has provided steady employment in its SW Ontario town. It now must replace the IT Specialist, a key employee all had come to rely on over the past 2 decades. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and supporting all employees, this position is responsible for providing leadership and maintaining the local Information Technology operation. This includes providing technical support for the local Cisco network infrastructure, Windows servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, scanners, printers, software applications, and Telecom systems. On an ongoing basis the IT Specialist will facilitate the coordination of local information systems activities with corporate initiatives. By partnering with in-house Electrical Engineer and Manufacturing Engineers, the IT Specialist will troubleshoot and maintain plant systems (10in6, Maximo, Manufacturing to LAN integration). The single contributor nature of this role necessitates answering queries and troubleshooting issues that arise from 24x5 production hours and occasionally on weekends.
